About

From books and furnitureto the music business.

Bet Guasch

I'm Bet Guasch, an economist based in Mataró, near Barcelona. Most of my career has been on the commercial side of things other people make: books first, then furniture.

At Planeta I managed ebook and audiobook accounts with Apple, Google, Nextory and Scribd: prices by market, promotions and sales against targets. At Decowood I went from B2B sales to running the channel and then to building the company's business intelligence, so I've looked at the same numbers from the sales side and from the P&L.

I don't have music industry experience yet. What I do know is how content is priced and distributed on digital platforms, and how to build the reporting that shows whether a decision worked. In October 2026 I started the Postgraduate in Music Business Mindset at IMB to learn the rest.

How I work

  1. Ask

What decision is this analysis for? I start there, before opening the data.

  2. Explain

A change in profit is only useful once I know whether it came from price, volume, mix or cost.

  3. Simplify

Present it so that someone who didn't build it can act on it.

  4. Build

A tool people use beats a complete one nobody opens.

  5. Check

Go back to see whether the decision worked, and say so if it didn't.
